Jenny and Charles' Garden Party Wedding in Bridgnorth - Shropshire Wedding Photographer

Some things are quintessentially English. Summer flowers, it being ‘too hot’ (I like it hot, but ohhhh this? It’s too hot…), Pimms, wheat fields, a white plaster and brown wooden cottage with roses around the door, a 1000 year old church, a garden with a pond, terrible dancing, fantastic parties… and Jenny and Charles’ wedding day back in June had literally ALL of these - and a whole lot more. If an alien turned up in Shropshire and asked you to show him or her what Shropshire IS then their wedding would be what you would show them.

The hottest day of the year, a marquee in the garden, a small orchard and a gorgeous little lake (or maybe a large pond - I don’t know where the difference lies!) were the back drop for a wonderful garden party after Jenny and Charles were married in Charles’ local parish church - a tiny but stunning little Norman Church sitting on a hill just outside Bridgnorth, overlooking Charles’ childhood home.

It was so hot that the bar ran out of Pimm’s, but thankfully not beer for when Charles’ cricket team arrived to party, but Jenny and Charles’ family enjoyed a delicious meal in the marquee and then a lazy afternoon enjoying the sun in such an idyllic situation. You just couldn’t be more British…English…Shropshire…

Jenny looked just stunning and in her dress and was joined by her ‘pup’ Athena - the massive Newfoundland Dog for portraits with Charles before she went back off to the doggy-sitter to stay cool. This Shropshire Wedding Photographer wasn’t so lucky. At one stage I had to change my shirt because it was sooooooo sweaty, and as I hung it off my car door whilst I swapped over shirts…a small pool formed under it from the drips. Not attractive? Possibly. Too much information? Definitely.

But, I absolutely loved this day. it was one of the weddings I had been particularly looking forward to, and it was an example of how to do things both traditionally AND yet your own way…and this wedding was a marriage of two people who just love each other so much, AND of traditional and personal.

But enough of me blathering on…here’s some of their pictures…
