Shropshire Wedding Photography - A Mini-Styled Shoot in Baschurch, Near to Shrewsbury!

I hate writing these blog posts. I mean what am I supposed to write? I don’t know. But I recently had the chance to do a mini-styled shoot with Charlotte of “Creations by Charlotte” who said that she would do her own make-up and hair. But she didn’t have a dress. Where would we get a dress from?

I called around a few suppliers, but they, unsurprisingly didn’t want their own expensive and beautiful dresses dragged through mud and dirt in the location I had chosen. What was I going to do…? So I looked on ebay, and then took a glance as Wish. I could get a wedding dress sent to me from China for £35 including postage. What would it be like I wondered, but at £35, what could I lose. Well of course I could lose £35, but life’s a bit of a gamble isn’t it? I ordered and a couple of weeks later a very small parcel arrived…This couldn’t be the dress…

But it was. compressed down to a package between A5 and A4 size, the dress was a folded and a bit creased, but hanging in the wardrobe and a quick iron soon sorted that. Okay, it wasn’t perfectly finished, and if you looked at it up close it was a bit…dodgy…but if you stayed at a distance and took long shots, no one would notice the lack of attention to detail on the seams and stitching, but otherwise, it was perfectly serviceable and would look ace. All that remained was hoping that it would fit…

Not me. I mean I am never going to fit into a size 6 wedding dress. But my 12 year old daughter tried it on and I got a good feeling that Charlotte would be able to fit in it well.

And the day of the shoot came, Charlotte arrived looking just about as amazing as possible, and tried on the dress - a perfect fit! We popped down to the farmers land and pictures were taken, photographs were had, images were created!

And a wonderful fun time was had. Because of lockdowns and covid and such, it’s been far too long since I had taken pictures of anyone - let alone a ‘bride’. But the results weren’t bad, if I say so myself…

So, the dress is back in the wardrobe. I am hoping that as lockdown eases more I will be able to get out with a couple, hopefully to some wedding venues with it to take some pictures…And this Shropshire Wedding Photographer can’t wait!
